According to Gorden Edes of ESPNBoston.com, Red Sox outfielder Che-Hsuan Lin is in the Red Sox clubhouse right now. Him being there signals that Ryan Sweeney may not be OK after his spectacular catch in center last night to save 2+ runs.

Currently Ryan Sweeney is being checked for a concussion, after feeling concussion like symptoms during last nights game. If Lin is added to the major league roster, it’ll be because Sweeney is heading to the DL, not Cody Ross.

According to Bobby Valentine, Ross is a few days away from being able to play but is not a DL candidate right now. As this story develops we’ll update this post with the new information.

Update 11:46 AM: Mauro Gomez was optioned to AAA Pawtucket while Che-Hsuan Lin was added to the major league roster. Still no word on Sweeney.
