Top of the 1st inning

Lester had no trouble with the top of the Huskies order, striking out one and allowing no hits and no walks in the first. Lester threw only 7 pitches, 5 strikes.

Bottom of the 1st inning

After starting out the inning with two quick outs from Iglesias and Ellsbury, the Red Sox rallied with a 2 out double from Dustin Pedroia and 2 straight walks from Salty and AGon. Darnell McDonald drove in 2 runs with a single before Sweeney struck out swinging. 2-0 Red Sox

Top of the 2nd inning

After getting Jonathan Leroux to fly out to Cody Ross, Lester allowed a one out single to Pete Castoldi. Jason Roth was then called out and Castoldi was caught stealing on a nice throw from Salty. Lester should be out next inning so his final line for the game stands at 2 innings, 1 hit and 2 strikeouts.

Bottom of the 2nd inning

Cody Ross starts the inning off with a blast to left over the “Green Monster”. Then Will Middlebrooks and Jose Iglesias follow with back to back hits. Ellsbury hit a sacrifice fly to center to drive in Middlebrooks. Pedroia followed with a walk but not before Iglesias swiped second base. AGon then crushed one over the monster to give the Red Sox a 7-0 lead. Salty hit a single and DMac followed with a double before Sweeney drove them both in with a single. Ross ended the inning with a double play. 9-0 Red Sox

Top of the 3rd inning

Shoppach is now in the game, replacing Salty. After allowing a leadoff single to Ricky Salvucci, Justin Germano set down the side with no trouble on a popout to Adrian Gonzalez and two groundouts.

Bottom of the 3rd inning

After Will Middlebrooks flew out to right, Iglesias drew a walk. It’s good to see Iglesias start drawing more walks (albeit against a college pitcher). After Ellsbury flied out pinch hitter Oscar Tejeda singled to center field that scored Pedro Ciriaco on an error. Tejeda was caught stealing to end the inning. 10-0 Red Sox

Top of the 4th inning

Germano sets down the side in order with ease. Only needed 5 pitches to set down the Huskies in the 4th.

Bottom of the 4th inning

Nate Spears led the inning off with a double then Kelly Shoppach followed with a single to right. Darnell McDonald walked then Cody Ross hit a grand slam over the left field wall. After a Middlebrooks groundout, Ciriaco singled to centerfield. Che-Hsuan Lin followed with another home run to left field. It’s starting to get ridiculous now. Tejeda popped out to first and then Spears grounded out to end the inning. 17-0 Red Sox

Top of the 5th inning

Bowden started out the inning by striking out Foster then got Fonseca to line out to Tejeda. He then got Vosler to line out to Ciriaco.

Bottom of the 5th inning

Shoppach lined out to start the inning then DMac grounded out to the third baseman. Sweeney hit a two out double to left and was driven in by a double by Max St. Pierre. Middlebrooks followed with an RBI double. 19-0 Red Sox

Top of the 6th inning

Bowden has no trouble setting down the side in order, another 1-2-3 inning for him.

Bottom of the 6th inning

Ryan Sweeney crushed a 3 run home home run as the Red Sox take the lead (kidding). 25-0 Red Sox

Top of the 7th inning

Matt Albers comes into a high leverage situation and finishes the Huskies off. Final score: Red Sox 25 Huskies 0.

Huskies only had 3 total hits in the game. Don’t forget there’s a game tonight against Boston College, don’t miss it. It’s on NESN and MLB.TV for those who are interested in finally watching some Red Sox baseball.
